Dr. Ashutosh Bhatia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani and the Co-Founder of CogniX Technologies. The company provides cutting-edge technology revolutionizing motion analytics for tracking, detection, analysis, recognition, and matching features. He completed his PhD and postgraduate degree from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and B.E. degree from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Earlier, he also worked as scientist in Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), India for nearly five years and worked as research engineer in Samsung India. During his stay in Samsung, he was also the member of MAC core committee of IEEE 802.15.6 standardization group, and also, patented a couple of methods related to the MAC protocol of Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN). His research interests include building new designs, protocols, algorithms and theories that improve the security, performance and robustness of various networks and systems. He has also completed a number of government and industry sponsored projects as PI/Co-PI and few projects are currently in progress. Dr. Ashutosh Bhatia has successfully supervised and examined one PhD student in the area of software defined networking and is currently guiding five other Ph.D students In addition to the research and teaching responsibilities he is also working as an active member of Teaching Learning Center (TLC) BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus and Departmental Committee for Academics (DCA) and working as the in-charge of Blockchain and Networking research labs in the department.
